Making Garden Designs Fun and Easy!!!

Garden Designs

I've found that if you need inspiration for garden designs, you need to start somewere. And that place is this website.  I hope that you can find what ideas and products that you are looking for here. Spring is the time when gardeners need no encouragement to get down and dirty.  With lengthening days, the air less chilly, and the appearance of your spring flowers poking thru, it is the time when gardeners cannot wait to start planting.  then the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are upon us.  We nurture our plantings, weeding beds of colorful flowers and spend a lot of time watering those beds of colorful flowers.

The right landscaping ideas and gardening combinations can make your backyard an inviting retreat. Whether you’re choosing a flower garden design or trying a landscaping idea, the right garden accessories and plants can set the mood you’re trying to achieve.  While you involve yourself in the "rat race" of everyday life, why not take time to smell the roses—to look for the things that make you happy—things that make you feel energized and more alive?  One way to insure that you stop to smell the roses is to involve yourself in gardening.

When you want to create a beautiful and functional garden, the task may be overwhelming. Before the first shovel of soil is turned, close your eyes and picture your dream garden. Begin by asking what are your goals. Successful gardening requires a combination of thourough planning and skilled execution and this website will help you how to plan and furnish your garden.  Some of the common reasons to landscape include:

   • Create privacy • Entertainment  • Provide recreation  • Beautify the property

A good design can also add more living space to your home in the warm seasons and provide a window to the natural world during colder months. Sitting in front of my fire, looking out to the patio at the trees turning colors makes me yearn for the warmer weather and the planning of my spring garden.  Attractive gardens seldom just happen, they are designed.  And despite the apparent contradictions, design does not become easier with decreasing size: rather it becomes more difficult and demanding.  A large garden tends to look good anyway, the the odd weedy bed going almost unnoticed amoung the overall impression of lawns, stately trees and shrubs.  In a small garden long vistas are out of the question and the use of trees and shrubs is often severely limited.  Keep the design simple, stick to a style and follow your vision for making a plan to scale.  Then check out the effect by marking out the shapes in the garden before you start work.  This way you will be assured of success.

Planning your garden is a delightful experience that can bring you great pleasure. To get the best results you need to plan ahead. This is something that shouldn’t be rushed. You need time to analyse the changing of the seasons and how this will affect your vision. Plan out on paper the basic shape of your garden, starting with permanent features like fish ponds, patios, etc.

To get ideas for your garden lay-out consult the many books and magazines that flood the marketplace. Rather than finding one plan that suits your unique yard, it is more likely that you will mix and match between different layout ideas. You should also visit other gardens, both public and private. That way you’ll be able to see how those baby plants will mature as well as getting a feel for the use of garden structures, water gardens and pools.
